You can shield eyelashes, eyebrows, eyelids, freckles, lips, gums, teeth, etc. and any tissue (deep or superficial) needing protection. Useful during skin resurfacing, incisional procedures, skin depigmentation, etc. In surgery, they can serve as an instrument for retracting tissue and as a backstop.
